With the change of season upon us, we have to make sure that we are staying as healthy as possible to prevent getting sick! Ensure you are getting tons of rest (at least 6-8 hours/night), drinking 2L water/day, eating whole foods, exercising and avoiding processed foods and sugar which impair your immune system during a change of season.
How can you boost your immune system?
1) Vitamin D – 1000 IU/day (at least)
2) Alternating hot and cold showers daily (always end on cold)- Stimulate lymphatic flow and circulation
3) Dry Skin Brushing before showers- Stimulates lymphatic flow and circulation
4) Increase your consumption of raw garlic and onions -Natural anti-microbials
5) Ginger tea (helps to boost the immune system)

Feeling congested?
Try ‘wet magic socks’ before bed. Place cold wet cotton socks on your feet and then place warm wooly socks on top. Hop into bed and in the morning you will be less congested and your feet will be warm and dry! :)

There is a time honoured tradition in China to consume CHANGE OF SEASON SOUP during each season change to prevent illness and boost our body’s immune system. This soup contains four eastern herbs which are boiled in water. The water from the herbs is then used as stock for soup. I make this soup during every seasonal transition. I boil the herbs, strain them and then use the broth and add chicken, carrot, onions, celery, garlic and leeks.
